To Lead, Live & Look Ahead (Nov.)

Here at LeaderShape, we want to experience a world where everyone leads with integrity and lives in possibility. Where we work in community with one another. Where everyone sees their own gifts and finds ways to use them for the greater good.

We want to intentionally create spaces for others to be included and contribute in this world and then by doing so, lead others to do the same – “to lead, live and look ahead”.

This blog series is a place to find updates from our Community Engagement team at the beginning of each month. The updates will include #Day7, #LeaderShapeChat, and any other upcoming campaigns and projects you can participate in with us.

Day 7
This month, #Day7 focused on gratitude. Gratitude is the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. Expanding your gratitude can help you lead a happier and healthier life. LeaderShape gave tips and tricks to help you become a more grateful person in your everyday life. We had quizzes, articles, videos, and quotes to learn how to #PracticeGratitude in a fun and engaging way. Many fellow LeaderShapers got involved and it was a great success!

Day 7

This month, #Day7 will be focusing on creativity. Many believe that only certain people can be creative, but LeaderShape believes that every individual is capable of being creative in their own ways. We will debunk this “only certain people can be creative” theory and share ways to find and embrace different kinds of creativity. Throughout the entire day (Saturday, October 7th), we will have quizzes, articles, videos, and other fun ways to #FindYourCreativity on our Twitter feed – be sure to follow along.

#LeaderShapeChat

In September, we talked about how self care plays a critical part in leadership and our lives. Catch up on the recap here.

LeaderShape Graduates

In September, we continued to strengthen our engagement with LeaderShapers through our social media efforts by starting a “Where Are They Now” campaign. We highlight members of our Institute, Catalyst, and Resilience programs by sharing their story, advice, or favorite quote.

#ToLeadRead

It’s National Book Month! To celebrate, we want to send you a LeaderShape gift bag with one of our favorite books! Throughout the years, we have been inspired by many stories, learned some lessons, sparked creative ideas, and even had a few “how fascinating” reflections. All of this happened by simply turning a page. Throughout the rest of the month, we invite you to post on Instagram a picture of you and your favorite book with the hashtag #toleadread.

The 4 Minute Guide to #LeaderShapeChat

Here at LeaderShape, we want to live in possibility and then by doing so, lead others to do the same. To lead, live. Our monthly Twitter chats are rooted in this belief. In September 2016, we hosted #LeaderShapeChat – our first Twitter chat! Through #LeaderShapeChat, we invite you to interact with other LeaderShapers and reflect deeper on what “to lead, live” means.

What is a Twitter Chat?

A Twitter chat is a one-hour conversation focused on a particular subject or theme. A question is tweeted every 10 minutes from the LeaderShape Twitter account and there are usually 5 questions in total. Joining the conversation is easy! All you have to do is respond to questions and other participant’s responses using the specific chat hashtag #LeaderShapeChat in your tweets.

A Sneak Peek: What To Expect

We host #LeaderShapeChat once a month and each month has a different theme. Some of the past themes include:

  • “To lead, live courageously.”
  • “To lead, live authentically.”
  • “To lead, give.”
  • “To lead, live in possibility.”

Whether you have participated in our Catalyst program, served as a cluster facilitator at the Institute, or just want to know more about LeaderShape, everyone is welcome to join #LeaderShapeChat! It’s a unique opportunity to engage with individuals who lead with integrity and have a healthy disregard for the impossible.

Helpful Tips for #LeaderShapeChat

  • Make sure you’re following @LeaderShape on Twitter.
  • Add an upcoming #LeaderShapeChat to your calendar as soon as it’s announced.
  • Questions come from the @LeaderShape Twitter account in the format Q1, Q2, etc. Use A1, A2, etc for your answers.
  • Don’t forget to include the hashtag #LeaderShapeChat in your tweets!
  • Join in when you can and it’s okay if you don’t contribute an answer to every question.
  • Engage with other LeaderShapers by replying, liking or retweeting their answers.
  • Consider using Tweetdeck, Hootsuite or Tweetchat to keep an eye on the conversation.

Missed a #LeaderShapeChat?

After each #LeaderShapeChat, we post a Storify that recaps the questions and responses. What’s a Storify? Head over to our Storify page to see an example of a summary of December’s #LeaderShapeChat.
